Light

Light Experiment馃構

The experiment :"the broken pen"

Materials:

* A glass full of water
*  A pen

How can we do this experiments? It is very easy , try to do it.

  •  First, you introduce the pen into the glass of water in vertical position  then you can see the pen  in the same position.
  • Secondly , if you put the pen distorted then you can see the pen broken .
Why do you see the pen broken??

It is  because of the refraction of the light . The refraction of the light is the light direction  changes when the light  passes from the air to the w谩ter that is why you can see the pen broken.

HEAT

EXPANSITION:❤️❤️馃挏馃挋馃挃馃枻

HOW TO DO THE EXPEREMENT:

MATERIAL:
ballonn
alumnium foil
drink clenear
glass bottle
INSTRUCTION
first put the drink cleener in the bottle the cut the alumnium foil into litte pieces, put it in the bottle hang the ballon in bottle

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?
the ballon will grow but not whit air if not by helium
WHY IS HAPPENING?
the drink clener contain sodium hydroxide  when sodium hydroxide react whit aluminium foil hydrogen gas is formed hydrogen and gas acumulats in the ballon inflates it.

heat energy

MATERIALS:

WATER

ICE

PLATE

WHY  IT IS SPILLED?

ice turns into water because the water hot and is at the same temperature as the water.

THE PROCESS

PUT THE ICE INTO THE WATER AND WAIT AS THEY ARE SPILLING AND SO ICE WILL BE SET TO THE SAME TEMPERATURE AS WATER

Heat Project

馃樀HEAT EXPERIMENT馃樀

MATERIALS
1balloon
1glass base
1candle
1bucket full of cold w谩ter and
Matches.

HOW IT IS DONE
First light the candle.
Then we pass the glass over the sail and heat the edges 20 seconds.
When we have finished heating the edges we put the glass on top of the balloon and put it in the bucket full of w谩ter.
When you put it in the w谩ter the balloon gets lightly inside the glass.
And when we take out the balloon and the glass of the bucket of w谩ter will be stuck.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EXPERIMENT

馃槈When you put the glass in the container with w谩ter the air propagates inside quickly and decreases the pressure.

WHY DOES IT HAPPEN

馃構Because the balloon  gest lightly in the glass pushing by the difference of pressure

HEAT ENRGY

First the ice is put in a glass ,then wen the ice it's melt we put it in the cooking pot and is going to get vaporized becaue of the heat.

The ice is melt cos is not at frizen temperature like in the frige and the normal temperature is hotter so its melts.

The water evaporate cos it's put in a very hot place.

Electrical energy

ELECTRICAL ENERGY

I´m going to show you an experiment to get electrical energy from the sun.

For this science experiment, we need:

Now, I will explain my experiment, in the next video.

Why does it happen?

The mission of the photovoltaic solar panel is to receive solar energy and transform it into electricity. We will see how the sun´s energy is transformed into electrical energy.

The sun´s rays hit the solar panel and are transformed into electrical energy. This energy causes the light bulbs to light up.

The more the sun gives the photovoltaic solar panel energy, the more intense the light bulbs are. When we completely cover the photovoltaic solar panel, as no energy is produced, the bulb goes out.

The energy can be stored in a battery. This way, we will have electrical energy when it is not sunny.

The bulb lights up when sunlight is transformed into electrical energy. Look at the pictures.

The energy of the sun accumulates in the battery. We will therefore have electric energy even when there is no sun. Look at the picture.

CONCLUSION:

  • We can get electrical energy from the sun.
  • We can save that electrical energy in a battery to use it later.
  • The sun´s energy is renewable.
  • Solar energy is a renewable resource that doesn´t pollute or affect the climate. It´s a clean resource. This energy will never run out.
  • And the most important characteristic: this energy is FREE !!!!

Thanks to my friends from Zaragoza, for teaching me so much about solar energy so I can share it with my friends at school.

I hope you like my hard work. Thanks for your attention.

What is heat?

What is heat?

  • Heat is a means of transferring energy between two bodies that are at different temperatures.

  • When two bodies with different tempereatures are in contact, there is a transfer of energy from one body to anoher.
ice cubes transfer cold to human body
hot water transfer heat to the egg

The effect of heat on matter

Bodies which receive energy in the form of heat, can change its size or its state.

    Changes in size:

Depends on the temperature it is exposed to, the same object shrinks or expands.

1.- Body size increases when it is heated (THERMAL EXPANSION

2.- Thermal contraction takes place when the body cools down.

Change in state:

Matter is found in one of the following states:
Solid
Liquid
Gas
When it is heated, it can change state.
Liquid + Cold = Solid (solidification)

Solid + Heat = Liquid (melting)

Liquid + Heat = Gas (evaporation)

Gas + Heat = Liquid (condensation)

A simple heat experiment

Supplies you will need:

3 clear jars
water
food coloring
masking tape
markers
thermometer

1.-Label the jars with the temperatures you are going to use in the experiment.

Bottle 1:  as Cold Water

Bottle 2: as Room temperature Water

Bottle 3: as Hot Water

2.- Add a drop of food coloring to each of the jars and observe what happens:

What happens to the drop of food coloring?

Does the food coloring behave the same in each of the jars? Why or Why not?
Molecules move faster when they are warmer and slower when they are colder.
The food coloring spreads out fairly quickly in room temperature water and slowes in the cold water.

Other heat experiment

To make the experiment you need:

Small plastic cup
Large bowl
spoon or stir stick
straws
ice (lots!!!)
Salt (coarse rocks salt works best for this experiment)
Juice. We use Guava Juice, but you can use the juice you prefer.

1.- Set your plastic glass in the centre of your bowl filled with your juice, then add the ice all around the outside until the ice covers at least 3/4 up the side of the glass.
Carefully sprinkle salt on the ice. Be very careful not to get any salt in the juice. This is very important! but cover the ice with salt.

2.- Now you should wait over 30 minutes. The juice will start to thicken up and once it reaches the desired thickness....it is ready to drink 馃槒

In this experiment we are applying the principles of heat transfer and the effect of salt on ice.
The salt causes an endothermic reaction that pulls heat from around it to melt the ice. It does this so aggressively that it will drop the temperature around it below freezing which allows our drink to go below freezing.

That is the reason why salt is thrown on the roads when it snows. The snow is melting and trafic accidents are avoided.
