CIRCULATORY   SYSTEM

DEFINITION:
The circulatory system, also called the cardiovascular system or the vascular system,
is an organ system that permits blood to circulate and transport nutrients

 FUN FACTS:

The heart is one of the only muscles that works in your body.

The entire trip around your body only takes blood about 20 seconds in total.

Blood is actually blue in color. It turns red when exposed to oxygen.

An adult body contains about 9 pints of blood.

If you were able to lay all the veins, arteries, and capillaries in an adult body, end-to-end, they would stretch out over 62,500 miles.

Platelets are also found in blood. These small cells clump together to help blood clot.

BLOOD VESSELS:

TOUR: The circulatory system is composed of the heart, blood, and a network of blood vessels: These components, together with the lungs, make up our cardiovascular system. The heart is responsible for pumping the blood through the numerous blood vessels found throughout the body .The blood carries nutrients and oxygen to cells, and carries away carbon dioxide and wastes. The blood vessels branch out from the heart and carry the blood to and from every cell in our bodies

MY QUESTIONS OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM AND THE ANSWERS:

  1. How to produce the blood?

To do this, the body must produce the liquid part of blood, called plasma, and the cells that float in it. Plasma is made mostly of water and salts that we absorb through our digestive tracts every day. Its job is to deliver nutrients and water throughout the body

  2.What causes a heart attack?

A heart attack happens if the flow of oxygen-rich blood to a section of heart muscle suddenly becomes blocked and the heart can't get oxygen.
