1. CHARACTERISTICS:
  • The calla lily is most popularar as a white blossom but it also grows:green,purple,orange,yellow,and pink flowers.
  • The blossom of the calla lily has a very distinct trumpet shape.
  • The green leaves of the calla lily are shaped like arrowheads and have white or silver speckles.

Reproduction in calla lilies is very similar to many other flowers.
The female part of the plant is the ovary and the male contribution is the anthers. On average in the calla lily there are 15 anthers for every one ovary.

  • White calla lilies inspire painters and adorn bridal bouquets.Indeed, the name of this elegant
perennial comes from the word "beautiful".
  • Their petals are yellow and it is very commun tosee it in weddings.
  • The Calla lily is a perennial bulb.
  • Though called a lily, Calla lilies are not really lilies.
  • Calla is a flowering genus of twenty-eight species originating in Africa and growing mostly in marshy areas.
