WHERE DO DIAMOND COME FROM?

Mining through the Kimberlite Pipes (Blue Ground).The natural diamonds are formed in conditions of high pressure and high temperature exist at depths of 120 km to 200 km in the terrestrial mantle.


Diamond, composed of carbon, is the hardest natural substance in the world and a good thermal conductor.

COLOUR

The natural diamonds are transparent but the different colours are caused by impurities in them. Diamonds can be yellow, brown, grey, orange, green, blue, white and black.

Prism spreading white light into a spectrum of light

Diamond has a high dispersion. Dispersion is what enables a prism to separate white light into the colors of the spectrum. This property of dispersion is what gives diamonds their colorful "fire".

DIAMOND USES

Diamond is the most popular gemstone in the world.

It can be used for industrial purposes such as cutting and polishing tools, electricity wires for personal computers and laptops and of course for jewelry.
