Warm desert

CHARACTERISTICS

• Very hot an dry.
• Annual Average Tº: 20 to 25º C.
• Maximun Tº: 43.5 to 49º C. While during the day the temperature is extremely high, at night the temperature can fall to below 0ºC
• Annual precipitation: very scarcely, about 250mm.
• Season: warm during the whole year and very hot in summer.

The hawk and the fox eat snake and lizard ,the lizard, scorpion and tarantula eat insects , and the snake eat lizard and rodents.

 DESERT ANIMALS:

Desert animals, have adapted ways to help them keep cool and use less water. Camels, for example, can go for days without food and water. Many desert animals are nocturnal, coming out to hunt only when the brutal sun has descended.

DESERT PLANTS:

Desert plants, may have to go without fresh water for years at a time. Some plants have adapted to the arid climate by growing long roots that tap water from deep underground.
