VENUS FLYTRAP

DESCRIPTION


It is a carnivorous plant.
It catches prey using  leaves that snap shut.

The Venus flytrap  is a small plant whose structure can be described as a rosette of four to seven leaves , which arise from a short subterranean stem that is actualy a bulb - like object














REPRODUCTION

The Venus flytrap not only consumes insects for food , it also  needs insects  for pollination to make a new generation. It has flowers.

 

FUN FACTS

The plant 's common name refers to Venus , the Roman goddess of love.
Despite the name , just  5% of  its total  diet  is flying insects.
