THE SENSE OF TASTE

• Taste receptors are on the tongue. There are four basic tastes:

SWEET	SOUR	SALTY	BITTER
Like a piece of cake	Like a lemon	Like, well, salt!	Like a cup of black coffee

• There are small bumps called taste buds. Taste buds help us taste the differences between sweet, sour, bitter and salty flavours.
