The Sight by Paula Castro

The eye is the organ of sight. The eye is composed of the following parts, as shown in these two pictures (guess which one I've made in my home blackboard)

- Cornea: A transparent structure on the front of the eye that allows light to enter inside the eye and protects the iris and lens.

- Iris: A colored circular membrane that surrounds the pupil and regulates the amount of light entering the eye. My iris is brown.

- Pupil: It is the black disk in the central part of the eye and let the light enter inside it.

- Lens: Controls the distance of the pupil to the retina by changing its form. If it becomes more opaque the images get blurred.

- Retina: Inner eye zone on the opposite side of the pupil. It consists of cells which convert light into electricity and transfer it to the optic nerve.

- Optic nerve: They transmit electrical impulses from the retina to the brain.

- Vitreous gel: The eye is like a balloon filled with a liquid called vitreous gel.

The sight is not only the eye. The brain is where the information is processed. If we "cheat" the brain, the same images mean different things. See my video!
