COCOA PLANT




It is an evergreen plant family Malvaceae.
In Greek means "food of the Gods".
The plant began in the South American Amazon and spread to Southern Mexico , through the trade routes of ancient civilizations kept.

It is a tree which needs moisture and warmth , always in bloom and can measure up to 10 meters high ; the soil where it is grown must be rich in nitrogen and potassium.
Flowers and fruits come directly from the stem and branches. 

The flowers are pink and the fruit is small berry that will lead to cocoa we know.
In cocoa,there are male and female sexual cells, must come together to produce a seed of a new tree is born. 
Each flower cocoa is part male an female.

Types of cocoa: 
Creole: be grown in countries of Central and South America and is high quality with the best chocolate is made.
Farmer: is the most grown and is based in Africa is the most used to make the most of chocolates.
Hybrid: is the mixture of two above.

Cocoa plant chocolate is obtained after many complex process that 
give rise to their different shapes and types.
