Syringa vulgaris




Lila belongs family of Olives plant.  

This plant grows up in the southeast of Europe.

In Greek the name of the Lila is syrinx, this name means flute. With Lila´s wood people manufactured flutes.

The Lila is a tree with deciduous leaves, it is 6 meters tall. Its cortex is grey.

Its leaves are green, oval and with entire margins. The leaves are in the stem one opposite to the other.

The flowers have a tube with one corolla with four lobes. The color of the flowers is violet, and sometime is white.

 


This plant is in a lot of gardens and parks, because its flowers are very beautiful and the flowers have a nice odor. In Spain this plant grows in a lot of gardens.

Lila is the official flower of New Hampshire State, because is the symbol of the hard character of men and women of this place.
This plant is food for the caterpillar. Its flowers are very attractive for butterflies. Lila´s flowers are used to make perfumes.
